Laura Francis, Founder of The Sussex Studio

Meet the Founder

After more than a decade in the corporate marketing world in London, I moved to Sussex to combine strategic marketing expertise with my passion for creative, design-led practice.

Over the past five years, I have focused exclusively on independent artists, designers, and bespoke brands, helping them translate craft, materiality, and process into narratives that resonate with design-literate, value-driven audiences I understand the unique challenges faced by independent creatives: limited time, niche audiences, and the need for marketing that is considered rather than reactive.

Sussex Studio exists to provide flexible, freelance creative marketing that strengthens presence, communicates story with intention, and allows artists, designers, and studios to focus on what they do best - creating.

With a calm, strategic approach, I help design-led brands build visibility that is meaningful, consistent, and aligned with their craft.

“The Sussex Studio bridges creativity and strategy in a way that feels deliberate, not overwhelming.”
